About

My name is Helena. I am a homemaker for my wonderful husband and two darling daughters. I enjoy working in the kitchen with my daughters making real food. This blog is a place for me to keep all my recipes that I create along our journey to living a healthier life.  With two young girls the food I make needs to be simple and easy to make so that I don’t have to spend all day in the kitchen not playing with them.  With a husband who spent many years working as a chef they also need to be good enough for adults. With those two things in mind I try to create food for my family that everyone will eat and uses whole grains wholesome protein and fats with lots of vegetables and fruits. We keep the processed food out of our house (white flour white rice and sugar) and replace with the whole grains and unrefined sweetners. We try to stick to the dietary guidelines set in Nourishing Traditions by Sally Fallon.

Along with changing our diet we have also reevaluated the things we are putting on our bodies and switching to all natural personal care items. In doing so I have found that making our own are cheaper and work so much better.  Now I hope to share my creations with others.
